The Fire Centurion has been in use since 1991 by deaf people as an early warning smoke alarm for the home.
The Fire Centurion comprises of a smoke detector fitted with a coded transmitter and a bedside console fitted with a xenon strobe and vibrating pad. The smoke detector is battery operated whilst the Centurion console is powered via a mains power adapter with full system battery back-up. Visual indicators show “system OK”, “system fail”, and “power fail” (in case someone unplugs the mains adapter and forgets to plug it back in).

Setting up the system takes only a couple of minutes with a screwdriver to fix up the smoke detector. There is no wiring whatsoever or requirement for professional help.

When the smoke detector is activated by smoke, a coded radio signal is transmitted to the Centurion console, which operates the xenon strobe and vibrating pad.

Any number of Centurion consoles can be used with a single smoke detector, or any number of smoke detectors can be used with a single Centurion console.
