Silent Alert Care Call System:

What do I need to make up a System?

A system must include a Pager, Charger, Key Fob Transmitter or a Monitor. Additional input options will be necessary if a Nurse Call Button, Pressure Pad or Door Switch are required.

What is the operating range of the system?

In open air the system will operate at over 150 metres or up to 1000 metres depending on the range setting. This will be less within a building and will depend upon its structure.

Can any other system affect the Care Call System?

No the Care Call System operates on a specially allocated frequency for Social Alarms and uses a protocol unique to the product.

Is the system digital?

Yes it uses digital UHF radio.

How long does the in built Pager battery last and what do I do when it reaches the end of its life?

The Pager unit has a built in rechargeable battery pack which should last 4-6 years. At the end of the battery life it will be necessary to replace the Pager.

What type of batteries do the Monitors & Key Fob Transmitters use?

These use standard batteries, which can be purchased from a retailer.

How long does the Pager battery last on a full charge?

The battery will last 3-4 days, although it has been designed to be charged each night.

How will I know when the battery needs charging?

The Pager will vibrate and light up the battery symbol.

How do I know that the Pager is on?

The battery symbol flashes once every 45 seconds.

Does the battery symbol flash when it is in the Charger?

No the battery light does not flash whilst the Pager is charging.

How do I know when the Monitor battery is flat?

The monitor sends a low battery signal to the Pager. The Pager vibrates and lights up a numbered key, which corresponds with the Monitor with the low battery, then alternates with a double flash of the battery symbol. The test button also shines red instead of green if the battery is low.

Can I use more than one Pager as part of a system?

Yes you can use as many as you wish. Each Pager will respond to one or more Monitors.

If a neighbour has a system will it interfere with mine?

It is possible to change your system code if a neighbour has a system, using code switches 1-4 on the Pager and Monitor. So long as these are set to a different code to your neighbour's system they will not interfere with each other. It is possible to produce 16 different combinations using the 4 coding switches.

Can a Monitor be used to monitor more than one event?

It is possible for a Monitor to trigger with sound plus another event such as the activation of a call button, pressure pad or door switch. The Movement Monitor can also monitor sound as well as the activation of a call button, pressure pad or door switch.

Can a mains adaptor be used to power a Monitor?

A mains adaptor is required to power the Movement Monitor. A mains adaptor can also be used to power the standard Monitor.

How long does the Pager Vibrate?

The Pager vibrates for 20-40 seconds. The vibration can be cancelled sooner by pressing the key that is lit.

What do I need to make up a system?

A system must include a Pager, Charger and at least one Fire Safe Interface Panel. A vibrating Pillow Pad and or a flashing Strobe Light can provide nighttime cover.

How do visitors know that the Fire Safe System is installed?

Entrance notices are supplied with the system to advise visitors that the Fire Safe is installed and how to log onto it using their own home Pager. The notice also advises visitors that additional pager units are available at reception.

What is the operating range of the system?

In open air the system will operate up to a distance of 1000 metres. This will be less within a building and will depend upon its structure. In larger buildings it is possible to include more than one Interface Panel.

Can any other system affect the SA3000 system?

No the SA3000 system operates on a specially allocated frequency and uses a protocol unique to our product?

Do I need a radio licence to operate the system?

No the system is licence exempt.

Is it necessary for you to install and maintain the Fire Safe System?

No the system can be installed and maintained by your existing Fire Alarm maintenance company.

Is the SA3000 home Pager system widely used?

Yes the SA3000 paging system is widely used throughout the country and is the leading paging system used by people who are deaf.

What happens if someone borrows a pager and forgets to return it to reception?

If a visitor leaves the building and forgets to return a Pager to reception then the Pager will vibrate and all lights will flash 6 times. This will continue every five minutes and acts as an effective reminder for the user to return the pager.

What do I need to make up a system?

A system must include a Pager, Charger and at least one Monitor. Night time cover can be provided by a vibrating Pillow Pad and or a flashing Strobe Light.

What is the operating range of the system?

In open air the system will operate at over 150 metres. This will be less within a building and will depend upon its structure. The system however has the longest operating range of any domestic paging system for people who are deaf.

Can any other system affect the SA3000 system?

No the SA3000 system operates on a specially allocated frequency for Social Alarms and uses a protocol unique to our product?

What type of batteries do the Monitors use and how long will they last?

The monitors use standard 9 volt PP3 batteries. We would recommend alkaline batteries, which should last around a year.

How do I know that the pager is on?

The battery symbol flashes once every 40 seconds.

Does the battery symbol flash when the Pager is on charge?

No the battery symbol does not flash when the Pager is on charge.

How do I know when a Monitor battery is flat?

The Monitors send a low battery signal to the Pager. The Pager vibrates and lights up the symbol that matches the setting on the Monitor then alternates with a double flash of the battery symbol. Pressing the send button can also test the condition of the battery.

Can I use more than one Pager on a system?

Yes you can use as many as you wish. Each pager will respond to a single Monitor.

If a neighbour has a system will it interfere with mine?

It is possible to change your system code if a neighbour has a system using the code switches 1-4 on the Pager and each Monitor. So long as these are set the same on all the components of your system and the code is different to your neighbour they will not interfere with each other. It is possible to produce 16 different system codes using the 4 coding switches.

Can the Monitor be used to monitor more than one event?

No a Monitor is needed for each event.

Can I use a mains adaptor to power the Monitor?

Yes the Monitor has provision for an adaptor.

What happens if my phone rings whilst the pager is letting me know someone has rung the door bell?

The Pager will initially indicate the Doorbell and will change to the Telephone.

How long does the Pager vibrate for?

The signals last around 20-30 seconds and cancel automatically unless the key has been pressed. The Fire signal however continues for up to 15 minutes or until the fire button has been pressed.

How do I know if a building has a Fire Safe System and how do I log onto it?

A Fire Safe notice at the entrance of a building will confirm that the system is installed. Instructions on the Safe notice will explain how to log on. You simply press the Fire Key on your Pager it will vibrate and the Fire Key will flash three times. The Fire Key will flash once every 7 seconds whilst you are in the building. As you leave the building your Pager will automatically log off after a few minutes. Your Pager will vibrate and all keys will light six times. The Fire Key will stop flashing.
